Scribe: In what genre(s) do you write?
Gwendolyn Womack: My stories cross genre with Paranormal, Historical, Romance, and Thrillers.
Scribe: What authors would you like to have coffee or a beer with and which beverage?
GW: I don’t think I’ve ever had such a hard time deciding what to drink. I’d love to have coffee with Richard Matheson and David Mitchell; tea with Jane Austin, Katherine Neville, and Elizabeth Kostova; red wine with Deborah Harkness, M.J. Rose, and Diana Gabaldon (Deborah Harkness could choose the wine); and Lemon Drop martinis with Donna Tartt, Gabrielle Zevin, and JK Rowling. I could go on and somehow champagne hasn’t even made the list. Disaster!
Scribe: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what book would you want to have with you to keep you sane?
GW: It’s the first book that comes to mind and I can’t help but think it could have the opposite effect when I got tired of the island: Be Here Now by Ram Dass.
Scribe: What have you learned from your association with the Writers’ League?
GW: The Writers’ League helps me stay connected to the writing community in Texas. I’m from Houston and come back as often as I can.
Scribe: Where do you see your writing taking you (or you taking it) in the future?
GW: I plan to keep writing novels.
Scribe: Is there anything else about you that you would like to share with the world? An opportunity for blatant self-promotion!
GW: My debut novel, The Memory Painter, is out in bookstores on April 28. It’s a paranormal historical thriller about reincarnation. More about the story can be found at my website. The book trailer can be found on YouTube.
